Longtime Sandy resident, Gretchen Bennett passed away suddenly on Friday, February 5, 2016 at Legacy Mt. Hood Medical Center. She was 64.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Sandy Baptist Church.
She was born, Gretchen Louise Booth on July 25, 1951 in Portland to Wilbur and Alice (Jackson) Booth. She was raised and received her schooling at Cottrell Grade School and graduated from Sandy High School. Gretchen furthered her education and attended Beauty College in Portland. She later began her career as a hair dresser, working in the Portland, Gresham and Sandy areas.
On June 8, 1974 she was united in marriage to Glenn Bennett in Reno. Gretchen and Glenn made their home in Sandy where they raised their 3 sons and she worked part time as a hairdresser.
Gretchen was an avid reader, she enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports, knitting and canning. Her grandchildren were of greatest importance and she treasured the times spent with them.
Surviving is her husband Glenn, her sons, Dan, Matt and Tim; her brother and best friend Jerry; her sisters, Susan and Debbie and 9 grandchildren.
