Harold Earl Hansen was born on December 14, 1926 to Carl E. and Johanna (Rasmussen) Hansen in Tyler, Minnesota. He was the second of three sons. Harold was baptized at the Danebod Church and confirmed at the English Lutheran Church.
Harold was raised and received his schooling in Tyler and graduated from Tyler High School in 1944.
As a teenager, Harold worked in the local harvest fields, Stork’s Produce, and the C&NW Railroad, helping to fill in for the local men who had gone to war.
In December of 1944, Harold joined the US Navy and trained at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center near Chicago. He then went to the naval Radio Training Center in Indianapolis, Indiana and served in Hawaii until his discharge in July 1946.
After returning to Tyler, he worked for the Lincoln County Co-op delivering petroleum products. In 1951, Harold moved with his family to Oregon. Harold and his younger brother Allan operated a Richfield (now ARCO) service station in Salem, Oregon. From 1960 until his retirement in 1990, Harold worked for the State Of Oregon.
In 1961, Harold was united in marriage to Doris Gile in Salem. They lived in the Portland Metropolitan area and had three children, and two (a daughter and a son) died in infancy.
Survivors are son Rev. Carl Hansen (Kristy), granddaughters Honor and Synove Hansen of Colton Oregon. Brother Allan Hansen (Dorothy) of Alexandria, MN, sister-in-law Winnie Hansen and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Johanna and his brother Gene.
The funeral is to be held at 11:00 AM on January 3, 2015 at the Colton Evangelical Lutheran Church with the burial in the church cemetery.

Mr. Hansen passed away in Portland on Monday December 22, 2014. He was 88.
