Former Gresham resident, Harry Muse, died July 16 at Royalton Place retirement home in Milwaukie. A memorial service will be held at Assembly of God Church in Sandy, Oregon on August 19th at 1:00pm. He was 95.
Harry Merle Muse was born in Humeston, Iowa on August 16, 1917 as one of six children to Roy and Hattie (Gibbs) Muse.
In 1941, Harry entered in the U.S. Army where he served as a sergeant and Tank Commander during WWII. After the war he returned home to marry his sweetheart Wyetha McCloskey on November 7, 1945. On their honeymoon, they came to Oregon to visit family and ended up settling permanently in Gresham. Harry got a job at the Boring Post Office and worked as a rural letter carrier for over 30 years until his retirement in 1974.
Over the years Harry has enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, square dancing and many winters in Mesa, Arizona . Harry loved life and people.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Wyetha Muse, his two sons, Merlyn of Portland and Greg of Sandy, daughter Brenda Kendell of Lebanon, Oregon, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
