Ian Robertson Burns was born on June 11, 1915 in Troutdale, Oregon to John and Isabell (Grant) Burns. He was raised in Troutdale and received his schooling there and graduated from Gresham High School. He furthered his education at Washington State University.

In 1940, he was united in marriage to Crystal Hayden. In 1946, they moved to Boring where they raised their family and Ian farmed berries, poultry and livestock. Four years later, he started Burns Feed Store where he worked until retiring in 1981. In 1979, his wife preceded him in death. Shortly after retiring, Ian moved to California where he met and later married Grace Beckwith. She preceded him in death 2002.

Mr. Burns was an avid golfer and was actively golfing up until the age of 91. He loved going to garage sales, wood working and walking.

Ian is survived by his daughter, Sheryl Burns of Portland and his son and daughter in law, Rawley and Carol Burns of Damascus; 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Mt. Hood Hospice or Meals on Wheels.
