Longtime Sandy resident, Irene Schoppert passed away while surrounded by her family and friends on September 9, 2016. She was 82. A graveside service will be held at Carus Cemetery in Beavercreek on S. Kirk Rd on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 1:00pm.
Irene Fay Schoppert was born in Pasco, Washington on August 25, 1934 to Charles and Mina Brown. She grew up in the Oregon City area where she attended Oregon City High School. On December 26, 1951, Irene was united in marriage to Ray Schoppert in Stevenson, Washington. They made their home in Clackamas for a short time where they began their family. Two years later, they moved to Sandy where they made their permanent home where Irene helped Ray with his logging company.
On July 10, 2014 Irene was baptized into Christ in Gresham, Oregon and became a part of her church family. She remained dedicated to her church and dedicated to her fellowship.
Irene enjoyed shopping and lived life to the fullest in everything she did and she loved to “sparkle”.
Survivors include; son Lyle (Sydney) Schoppert of Sandy; daughter Alice Schoppert of Eagle Creek; daughter-in-law Debbie Schoppert of Sandy; twin sister Pat of Oregon City and sister Kathryn of Clackamas; and 4 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son, Ray Schoppert Jr.
