Sandy resident Jackie Lawson died Sunday February 21, 2010 at his home. He was 65.
A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel of Sandy Funeral Home on Saturday February 27th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.
He was born Jackie Dean Lawson to William Opal and Mary Lela (Miles) Lawson on September 1, 1944 in Lebanon, Missouri. Jackie grew up there and received his schooling graduating from Lebanon High School. He moved with his family to Oregon in 1962.
After getting settled Jackie worked at Flavor Pack Cannery in Gresham for a short time. In 1963 he went to work at what is now Boeing of Portland and ended up making that his career for the next 37 years. He retired in 2004.
Jackie was married on April 1st, 1967 to Lorraine Ferrante in Portland. They moved to Eagle creek in 1970 and started their family. They lived there until moving to Sandy in January.
Jackie loved camping with his kids and friends, he also loved golfing and bowling. He was involved with the Boring Golf Club for several years.
Survivors include his wife Lorraine, daughters, Sherrie Schmick of Portland and Emily Williams of Sandy; son Jason Lawson of Forest Grove; and 6 grandchildren.
