Sandy resident, James Arnold Bloodgood passed away and has gone on to be with the Lord, Jesus Christ.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Willamette National Cemetery. James will have a military burial.
James, AKA Jimmy or Jim, was born in Catskill, NY and was raised in Lexington, NY and many other cities throughout the USA, from NY to CA. James loved to fish. He was knowledgeable of all kinds of fish and plant species. He was a journeyman mechanic and plumber.
James was a US Army combat veteran, an American hero, recognized for his valor, gallantry, heroism, meritorious service and achievement, honorable service and defense of our great country by the medals he received while serving from January 1967 to January 1970. James received 5 Purple Hearts.
Survivors include his children; Heath and Wade, 3 grandchildren, Parents; Donald and Audrey Foss, Sisters; Roberta Linn and Rebecca Bloodgood, Brother; Laurence Bloodgood.
The family suggests contributions be made to Liver Cancer Research.
