Last night I went to the Jazz Station in downtown Eugene and heard this phenomenal group of young jazzers. James would have loved playing with these Very talented musicians. I will always miss him. Carolyn A Horn
I had the good fortune of knowing James for the better part of my adult life. He was first an undergraduate student of mine at the University of Texas Arlington, and later my very first Graduate Teaching Fellow at the University of Oregon. James was so outstanding as a student and a colleague for the same reason that he was so wonderful a friend...he loved life and people. He made the time you spent with him joyful. I miss him greatly. Steve Owen
