James (Jim) Lewis
Jim was born on January 13, 1951 and lost his fierce battle with cancer on June 14, 2016. He passed away peacefully in his Sandy home, surrounded by his family.
Jim moved his family to Sandy in 1995, and loved the small-town feel of the city and the natural beauty of his home on Tickle Creek. He enjoyed a long career in Social Services, promoting and supporting the independence and dignity of persons with developmental disabilities.
Jim was an avid handyman who never met a tool he didn’t like and he also had a keen interest in state-of-the-art electronics. He was intellectually curious, a kind and sympathetic friend and a lifelong champion of the “underdog”. He was a force to be reckoned with.
Jim is survived by his mother Jean Lee of Lebanon, Oregon; sister Joyce Nuzman of Lebanon, Oregon; his wife Sheila; his daughters, Carol Stevenson of Stevenson’s Ranch, California, Jean Cubic and Emily Lewis of Sandy and 9 beautiful grandchildren.
His memorial will be held on July 2, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at the Bell Tower Chapel located at 13360 SE Richey Road in Boring.
