Janice (Jan) Hall Stotts was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 16, 1949, the second of four children born to Robert and Elsie Hall. The family soon moved to Berlin, Wisconsin and lived there for ten years. Janice and the family moved to Hawaii in 1959 and after about a year moved again to Portland. Janice attended Gresham High School and graduated from David Douglas High school. It was at Gresham High that she met her future husband Brad Stotts. They were married in Oregon City at the Unitarian Church. Military service took the couple to Germany for almost two years. Janice continued her education after returning home from Europe until the birth of their daughter Jennifer Ann and a couple of years later their son Eric Allen. Jan was a wonderful mother and wife and enjoyed family life. Jan is survived by her mother Elsie Hall, her siblings Larry Hall, Robert Hall, Kimberly Hall, husband Brad Stotts, daughter Jennifer Seo, son Eric Stotts and five grandchildren; Brady Stotts, Austin Seo, Mckinley Stotts, Ellie Seo and Skylar Stotts.
Jan was always an avid reader and loved learning. She earned a degree in “mental health and human services”. This is a field where she thought she could make a difference. Unfortunately, her health prevented her from working in that field. She enjoyed painting with both oil and water color. Her beautiful art still adorns the walls of our home. Jan very much enjoyed the beauty of nature and loved growing many flowers around our landscape and garden.
In recent years Jan discovered line dancing and she quickly developed a passion for that activity. She loved the dancing and the many friends she made in the line dance world. By all accounts Jan was loved by her many dance friends. Jan was a warm and friendly person that loved to laugh and enjoy life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her and most especially by her family.
