Longtime Eagle Creek resident, Jacqueline Jespersen died in Portland on Friday, October 23, 2009. She was 80.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness located at 14665 Bluff Road in Sandy.
She was born, Jacqueline Floretta McSparran on February 7, 1929 in Portland to James and Ada (Burris) McSparran. She was raised and received her schooling in Portland and graduated from Jefferson High School. A few months after graduation, Jacqueline was united in marriage to Lenard “Lenny” Jespersen in December of 1946. They made their home in the Portland area where she began her career as a secretary. She worked for Stearns and Lessard, Attorney At Law for five years. She later worked for Quaker Oats and then Oregon Physician Service. After their first child was born, Jacqueline took seven months off before returning to work part time for Buhlinger and Dressler Attorneys.
In 1962 the family moved to the Gresham area and then in 1967 the family moved to Eagle Creek where they made their permanent home and raised their family. Jacqueline pursued her career as a Legal Secretary until retiring in the late 1980’s. Jacqueline and her husband remained on their property in Eagle Creek where they enjoyed retirement. In March of 1993, Lenny preceded her in death. In 2007, Jacqueline moved to Sandy where she made her home.
Jacqueline was an avid geneologist. She also enjoyed sewing, traveling in their travel trailer, biking and canoeing.
She is survived by her son, Eric Jespersen of Estacada and her daughter, Bonnie Page of Sandy; her sisters, June McDowell of Portland and Rhae Logan of Oakville, Washington; 3 grandchildren, Cory, Aaron and Misty and 2 great grandchildren, Lexine and Paige.
