W. Jean Davis, 87 years old, died September 20, 2014. Jean was born in Lakeview, Oregon and lived in Portland and Woodburn. She graduated from Lakeview High School and then University of Portland Nursing program in 1944. After working as an RN in Alaska, Hawaii, and Roseburg, she married Carl Davis in 1955. She later worked as a school nurse in Woodburn when Carl was starting his law office and buying the ranch home. Carl preceded her in death in 2008.
Jean was a member of The Woodburn Presbyterian Church, Woodburn PEO, and University of Portland alumni club. She was active in church and community activities. One of her favorite family gatherings were Thanksgivings at the ranch, who could ever forget the legendary Talent Shows? She was truly God's hands and feet when she volunteered at the church as a deaconess, with hospice sitting with patients, and just taking time to help people every day of her life here on earth.
Survivors include Janell Wyatt and husband Bert, Jerry Davis and wife Vickie, Jennie Garrett and husband Dan along with 6 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Public service will be held Nov. 1 at Woodburn Presbyterian Church at 2pm, reception following service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Woodburn Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.
