Jerry Lee Renfro was born September 9, 1953 to Bernard and Phyllis Renfro in Hawthorne, California. He was one of six children. Jerry went home to Jesus, his Savior, surrounded by his family whom he loved and who cherished him, May 28, 2022 in Sandy, Oregon from Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was 68 years old.
Jerry graduated from David Douglas High School in 1971. He went on to Oregon State University and earned his Masters of Science degree in 2008. Jerry had a love for rock and mineral collecting and an interest in science and the natural world.
Jerry and Debra (Smith) married April 23, 1976 in Sandy, Oregon. They were blessed with 3 sons; Chris, Greg, and Kevin.
Jerry became a Deputy Sheriff for Washington County in 1975 and served until 1981. He then went to work for Washington County Fire/Tualatin Valley Fire as an Alarm Dispatch and Fire Inspector from 1981 until 2008.
Jerry had a generous heart and placed a high value on honesty and loyalty. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and good friends. He treasured time with his grandchildren. He is missed every day.
Jerry is survived by his wife Debra, children Chris Renfro (Lindsay) of Albany, Greg (Amanda) Renfro of Eagle Creek and Kevin (Stephanie) Renfro of Dallas, Oregon. Also his sisters; Marie (Tim), Nancy (Wayne) and Kerry (Kevin).
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Phyllis, and his brothers Barney and Steve.
The family held a graveside service in May at Cliffside Cemetery.
There will be a Memorial Service June 25, 2022 at Sandy Baptist.
