Jerry Sanford Craig of Sandy, Oregon passed away on August 17th 2010 of heart failure. A graveside service was held on Monday August 23rd at Sandy Ridge Cemetery. Services were provided by Sandy Funeral Home.
Jerry was born on September 14th 1944 in Claremont, Oklahoma, the only child of Hugh Sanford Craig and Marvabelle Francis Green.
Jerry was a resident of Sandy for 32 years, having previously lived in Ventura California.
He worked as a Police officer in Cuero Texas for 3 years, on an off-shore oil rig for 3 years and 6 years for Pepsi Cola. He started his own business selling ice and beverage machines, which he operated for 3 years (JSC Industries). Prior to retirement he worked for Coca-Cola for 25 years.
Jerry enjoyed travel, shooting guns, riding and fixing motorcycles and playing with his grandchildren. His legacy lives on in the values he taught his children, of hard work, integrity, self-reliance and service to others. Jerry was the first one called to help neighbors in need.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sheila Jean Craig, and his 6 children: Holli Partridge (California), Eric Lee Craig (Hillsboro), Lisa Kathleen Weber (Sandy), Sherri Lynn Craig (Sandy), Jill Francis Craig (Gresham), James Michael Craig (Utah), 13 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, and his aunt, Linda Plant of Texas.
He will be greatly missed. Donations in his name can be made to the heart disease charity of your choice.
