Sandy resident John Thompson, died at his home on April 1, 2009. He was 79.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, April 7, at Willamette National Cemetery.
John Gilbert Thompson was born to John G. and Leona (Russell) Thompson in Baltimore, Maryland on August 2, 1929.
John married Colleen D. Surber. Their son, John William Thompson, preceded them in death in 2002.
John served two tours of duty in the US Army and was last discharged in 1955, with the rank of Sergeant First Class.
He is survived by his wife, Colleen.
