Longtime Eagle Creek resident, Julie Simmons died at her daughter’s home in Sandy on Monday, August 26, 2013. She was 79.
A Funeral Service will be held at Sandy Funeral Home on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. A private burial will be at Sandy Ridge Cemetery.
She was born, Julia Ann Johnson to George and Crystal Johnson on August 17, 1934 in Kansas City, Kansas. She began her elementary schooling in Kansas and as a young girl, the family moved to Pasadena, California where she finished her education.
On April 14, 1955, Julie was united in marriage to Ralph Simmons in Las Vegas. They made their home in Southern California where they raised their family and Julie began her career in real estate.
Julie enjoyed traveling and taking road trips, sailing with her husband when they lived in California, making dolls and collecting Barbie’s. She loved spending time with her family. In her earlier years she played the piano, the guitar and liked to sing.
Surviving is her husband Ralph; her daughters, Kelly and Kim; her mother, Crystal (age 102); her brother Marshall; her sister Nancy; 7 grandchildren and 5 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father George and her daughter Shannon.
