In Loving Memory Of

Katherine Emily Kenny

February 12th, 1943 - September 19th, 2019

Obituary

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away unexpectedly the evening of September 19th while making dinner. Things happened very fast and she didn’t suffer. She was surrounded by family.

Mom was born Katherine Brooks in Lincoln Park, Michigan while her father was in the Army. While she was a child they lived in Michigan, Florida, and other locations. During her high school years, she lived in Lakewood, Washington. There she met and married our father, Dennis G. Kenny on November 23, 1963. Dad was an Air Force officer, so her travels resumed. They lived in Libya; Turkey; England; Germany; South Carolina; and Okinawa, Japan. When Dad retired in late 1980, the family settled in Portland to be near extended family. Mom very much enjoyed doing a wide variety of crafts and loved helping family and friends decorate their homes. She was always working on multiple projects for others and herself. Everyone who knew Mom well was on the receiving end of her talent, hand-made keepsakes, and an abundance of love.

She is survived by her husband Dennis Kenny and all her children: Michele Blodgett (and husband Dave) from Lacey, WA, David Kenny from Eagle Creek, OR, Deanna Reisman (and husband Kevin) from Clackamas, OR, and Glen E. Kenny (and partner Marya) from Gervais, OR. Her grandchildren include Kristina McElhinny, Brandy Runkle, Travis Blodgett, Jessica, Nicole Kenny, Cassie Kenny, Ashley and Katie, Alyssa Reisman, and five great-grandchildren.

We treasure the wife and mother she was and the time we had with her. Her love and devotion for our father has inspired us all. We will forever appreciate her unwavering, unconditional love and support. She will live on in our hearts forever.

We are so sorry to hear of Kathy passing. We know what an important part and blessing she was to your family and many others. Please take care of one another and know you are all in our hearts and thoughts. Love Kathy, Alma and Jessica Kathleen E Schwabe
Kathy has been my dear sister-in-law for all but the first 11 years of my life, so it's hard to imagine being without her. There are so many wonderful memories of her and the special times we shared. She created many precious keepsakes for my own family over the years that we cherish and that remind us of her. Kathy was a talented and creative person who loved her family very much and was loved by them in return. Pat Amann
May family be blessed with delightful memories.
May Kathy rejoice in the presence of the Lord.

So sorry for the family. It is always harder on family and friends when you don't have the time to prepare.
My prayers are with you.
I am sorry that I will be unable to attend the service as I can't drive

Kathy was one of my very best friends... She was there during the illness and death of my late husband, and with me every step of the way picking up my life! She helped in decorating every place I lived in, and dried every tear I shed! She is the true meaning of the word Friend! I Love you Kathy... Now and forever... Sue and Pat Currier
Aunt Kathy was the best. I still have one of her many crafting pieces, it is probably close to 40 years old. Wishing so much to be there with all of you. Keeping my Uncle Dennis and all of my cousins in my prayers. Love you all! Teri Sosebee
Thank you for everything you guys have done. Grandma would be so proud of everyone for honoring and remembering her in such a beautiful way. I love you with all my heart. Alyssa Reisman
