Gresham resident, Kathryn Snell died at her home on Thursday, August 13, 2009. She was 77.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Sandy Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. A private inurnment will be held at Cliffside Cemetery.
She was born, Kathryn Eileen Adams to Raymond and Wilma (McBride) Adams in Zanesville, Ohio on June 28, 1932. She received her elementary education in Zanesville and at the age of 14, the family moved to San Bernardino, California where she graduated from high school.
In 1953, Kathryn was married to George A. Hill in San Antonio, Texas. They made their home in San Antonio and began their family. In 1959, the family moved to Azusa, California where Kathryn worked for a dry cleaning company and later as a hostess. The family moved to Yuma, Arizona in 1968 and Kathryn was employed as a telephone operator. While living in Arizona, George suddenly passed. Kathryn and her youngest daughter remained in Arizona.
One year later, Kathryn met and later married George B. Snell. They lived in Texas for a time prior to moving to Escondido, California where she worked as a bank teller until retiring. Six years ago, Kathryn and her husband moved to Gresham to make their permanent home and be near her children.
Kathryn was an avid gardener, loved to fish and enjoyed bowling. In her later years she spent time on the computer playing Canasta. Kathryn was “full of life” and her love and sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Surviving is her husband George; her daughters, Pam June of Troutdale, Karen Fisher of Sandy and Vickie McNeal of Fort Collins, Colorado; her sister, Carol Willette of Gresham; 4 grandsons, Brian, Kyle, Clayton and Cole and 1 great grandson, Devin.
