Boring resident, Ken Rooney died at his home, surrounded by his loving family and friends after a long battle with lung cancer on Tuesday, March 30, 2010. He was 46.
A Celebration of Life Potluck will be held at Meinig Park in Sandy on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 1:00 p.m.
Kenneth Charles Rooney was born on November 24, 1963 to Donald and Margaret (Condon) Rooney in Sacramento, California. When Ken was 10 years old the family moved to Oregon City where Ken was raised and received his schooling.
On September 29, 2001 Ken married Patty Pelletier in Boring where they made their home and raised their family.
Ken loved cooking, hunting, fishing, camping and riding his ATV. He loved spending time with his son and daughter.
Surviving is his wife Patty; his son, Tyler Rooney and his daughter, Ally Rooney both of Boring; father and step mother, Donald and Shirley Rooney of Yacolt, WA; mother and step father, Margaret and Gary Rundell, his brother Brian Rooney and his sister, Teresa Rooney all of Oregon City; and many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association.
