Boring resident, Kenneth Eisert died at his home on Friday, June 12, 2009, He was 80.
A graveside service will be held at Willamette National Cemetery on Friday, June 19,
2009 at 12:30p.m.
Kenneth LeRoy Eisert was born on July 12, 1928 in Faribault, Minnesota to Henry L.
and Pearl M. (Rebstock) Eisert. As an infant, the family moved to Oregon and made their home in Happy Valley where Ken was raised and received his schooling. At the age of 19, Ken entered the U.S. Navy on September 5, 1947. He was honorably discharged
on August 30, 1951 and moved to San Diego, California. While living there, he was one
of the few that watched the solo flight of the Spruce Goose. Ken later returned to Oregon.
On November 14, 1959 he was united in marriage to Caroline Hull in Happy Valley.They made their home in Happy Valley where they began their family and Ken worked in construction. In the late 1960’s, Ken and Caroline purchased Foster Road Feed Store
which they operated along with their 2 sons. In 1973, the family moved to Estacada but
continued running the business until 1994. In 1999, they moved to Boring to live near their son and family and enjoy retirement.
Ken loved his family and spent a lot of time with them. He was truly a “family man”.
He also enjoyed gardening, wood working, working in his shop on all types of projects and spending time at the coast with family and friends, riding quads. In his earlier years, he enjoyed camping in the mountain and riding horses.
Surviving is his wife Caroline; his sons, Steven and Jerry Eisert both of Boring; his brothers Delmer Eisert of Portland and Roger Eisert of Boring; his sister, Duane Ulrich of Tualatin; 5 grandchildren, Nicholas, Crystal, Nicole, Page and Hope and 1 great granddaughter, Leila. He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Heather Eisert in
2008.
