In Loving Memory Of

Kirk McCauley Robinson

May 19th, 1942 - May 19th, 2022

Obituary

Kirk was born on May 19, 1942, to Vernon and Marian (Bronson) Robinson, in Portland.  He has one sister, Martha. He graduated from Beaverton High School in 1960. He worked at Parr Lumber for many years. He was working at the Faucet Tavern when he met the love of his life, Sheryl Ann Vaughn in 1974.  Kirk and Sheryl were married on October 17, 1975.  Together they raised two sons, David and Jerry.

Kirk attended the University of Portland and in 1982 graduated with his bachelor's degree in the science of engineering. He continued his schooling at University of Portland, graduating in 1991 with his Master’s degree in civil engineering. December 31, 2008, Kirk retired from Bonneville Power Administration after 27 years of service. Kirk loved his job and his coworkers, many being great friends.

After retiring, Kirk and Sheryl enjoyed traveling the US in their RV.  Kirk loved to be active and enjoyed his social life. He enjoyed skiing and riding bicycles, both at a competitive level and for pleasure. Kirk was determined to learn French and loved wine tasting. He had a passion for gardening and always kept a beautiful yard.

Kirk was a member of The Village Fellowship, where Pastor Leonard Eurich would become his best friend and fishing buddy. Kirk loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. His grandchildren were special to him, and he loved watching them grow into young adults. Kirk valued people and his relationships. He welcomed everyone into his heart. You may know Kirk from his many years of being Santa for the local community of Welches.

Kirk passed away on his 80th birthday, on May 19, 2022, in his home in Sandy with his wife at his side.

Kirk is survived by his wife, Sheryl Robinson.  His sister, Martha (Don) Rosentha. His sons, David Robinson, and Jerry (Jaime) Robinson and his grandchildren, Kayla Robinson, Madison Robinson, and Cody Robinson.

Kirk was proceeded in death by both of his parents, Vernon and Marian Robinson.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Village Fellowship would be appreciated.

Kirk and I graduated from the same high school & had known one another for some time prior to that. As a kid, he used to mow the lawn at my family's house in Portland. My mother ADORED him & was especially impressed with his work ethic and politeness. Kirk and I talked with each other at occasional (& large) HS class reunions over the years. I always looked forward to seeing him & (foolishly) assumed there would be more times to talk in the future. Kirk, you were one of the really good guys. Rest In Peace. Shirley Crawford
I had the pleasure of sitting by Kirk at village fellowship and having talks with him in talking to him what a gentle human being and a big heart especially for his family!!! He is with his Heavenly Father and at peace!! Dan Pedersen
Memories of the BHS halls between classes. Could always see Kirk above all others. He always had a smile for people & was great Barbara Schendel
I knew Kirk from Beaverton High. He was a super guy. So nice, polite, and a gentleman then and the last few years when reunited for group luncheons. So sorry I wasn’t there to celebrate his life. Helen Beers
Kirk was a wonderful friend. We had many great adventures on two wheels. So sorry he has passed. Jay Marcotte
We will always remember Kirk as a wonderful neighbor and kind man. During those busy work and child raising years of Jerry and Jacob it would have been nice to stop & sip a glass of wine with him. Rest In Peace Sweet Man 🍷☮️ Bruce & Lynn Gregg
I knew Kirk pretty well for a while; I believe we both volunteered at the BPA photo kiosk in the 905 basement. Never saw him in a bad mood, he was always cheerful and willing to swap shifts when needed. Though my memories aren't precise they are good ones, and I'll be holding them close with his passing. Jim Reilly
I'm so very sorry for your loss. Wishing you all love and light during this difficult time. Rebecca Simon
So many memories from Beaverton HS forward to today. Thank you Kirk. Hank & Lesley Johnson
Kirk was one of the nicest, friendliest guys at BPA. I never worked closely with him but he always seemed to know when our group was having a potluck, showing up right on time! I also was happy to see and visit with him on Cycle Oregon 2002. He was not able to ride that year but was part of the crew and always ready to help. Toni L Timberman
