Sandy resident Leonard "Lenny" Russell Kahut, 66, died at his home on June 6, 2010.
A funeral service will be held at Sandy Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 1:00 p.m.
Leonard was born in Portland on February 17, 1944 to Raymond P. and Marjory (Frettim) Kahut. He was raised and received his schooling in the Portland area attending Central Catholic and then graduating from Marshall High School in 1962.
After high school Leonard began working as an automotive painter which would become his life career. He worked for several businesses in Portland and after retiring from painting he drove school bus for the athletic trips for Centennial School District.
Leonard married Pamela Strickland in 1985. They moved to Sandy in 2006 where Leonard was able to spend more time doing the things he loved; spending time with his family, raising pigeons, shooting pool, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife Pam; sons, Russell and Raymond Kahut of La Grande, John Strickland of Vancouver, WA and Scott Strickland of Sandy; daughter Dorena Moore of La Grande; sisters, Diane Kolb of Canby and Nancy Morgan of West Linn; and nine grandchildren.
