Fairview resident, Lillian Robinson died at her home on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the age of 94.
A Funeral Service will be held at Sandy Funeral Home on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. A private entombment will be held at Lincoln Memorial Park in Portland.
She was born, Lillian Ruth Neibauer to Irvin and Ruth (Wheeler) Neibauer on May 25, 1918 in Gresham, Oregon where she was raised and received her elementary and high school education. After graduating from Gresham High School in 1936, she furthered her education at Oregon College of Education which is now Western Oregon College. Lillian received her Bachelor’s Degree and began her career teaching school at Sauvie Island in a 2 room school house.
Lillian married Burton A. Kindred in the early 1940’s. They built a home in the Orient area and raised their 3 children. They were divorced in the late 1960’s.
After Lillian’s children entered grade school in 1956, she returned to teaching at Orient Grade School.
On November 21, 1971 Lillian was united in marriage to Roland Robinson in Gresham. They lived in Orient where Lillian continued her teaching career until retiring in 1983. After retiring, Lillian tutored many children in her home up until 2004.
In 2003, she moved to Fairview to be near her children.
Lillian enjoyed crocheting, gardening, traveling with her husband Roland, reading and doing crossword puzzles. She attended St. Michael Catholic Church in Sandy and in her younger years she was a member of the Grange.
Surviving are her sons, Burt and Arnold Kindred both of Fairview and Shirley Staatz of Ridgefield, Washington; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Roland in 2002.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to any Hospice of your choice.
