Lois Evelyn Boldt, of Gresham, Oregon, passed into the arms of her loving Savior on February 8, 2017, at age 92.
Lois was born in Gooding, Idaho, to parents James and Edith Hunt in 1924. With her younger brothers Vernold and Darold, she attended school there, graduating from Gooding High School 1942 and then spending a year at Central Washington College in Ellensburg before moving with her family to Portland, Oregon. She was employed through the years as a bookkeeper for Portland General Electric, Portland Federal Savings and Loan, and Jack W. Olds and Company.
In 1946 Lois married Gerald Boldt, known as Jerry, of Portland, and in 1947 their daughter Jeanine was born. The family attended Trinity Baptist Church and other various churches where she often taught Sunday School in the primary department. She had a special love for babies and children. She became an accomplished seamstress, loved gardening, and travel. Lois also was a serious student of The Bible and loved The Lord with all her heart.
In 1997 after the death of her husband Jerry to whom she was married for 49 years, Lois moved with Jeanine and son-in-law Jim Ginn to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where at ago 70 she became a pizza maker in the family business for several years. Her pizzas were delicious works of art. She was also able to fulfill a life-long dream of visiting every state in the Union except Alaska. The family returned to Gresham, Oregon, in 2007. In 2011 due to serious health issues Lois moved to Good Samaritan's Fairlawn Village in Gresham where she became a much loved member of their "family". Her Pastor there was Reverend Eric Lange of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Lois Boldt will be remember as a loving and loyal wife, mother, teacher and friend. As a member of "The Greatest Generation" who endured the hardships of The Great Depression and survived WWII, in her own humble ways she contributed much to her family, friends, and the world in which she lived. She was a caring and sensitive lady who will be greatly missed by family and friends.
She is survived by daughter Jeanine Boldt-Ginn and brother Vern Hunt of Wyoming
