In Loving Memory Of

Loren Edward Little

June 29th, 1973 - December 22nd, 2021

Obituary

Loren went to be with the Lord our Savior on December 22, 2021. He will be missed and remembered greatly by all that knew him.

Loren Edward Little was born on June 29, 1973, in Portland, Oregon to Donald and Betty Jo Little. He was the second oldest brother of four siblings. In high school he was an outstanding soloist and athlete in football, track, and basketball. He graduated from Mount Hood Christian School with scholarship offers. On September 20, 1997, Loren married Danell VanWeerdhuizen. Loren and Danell settled down in Damascus, Oregon where they purchased a 1925 house that became an ongoing project. Loren loved working with his hands and worked hard to make their house a special home for their growing family of five. Loren was a handyman that could draw up any building plan or fix just about any household fixture. Loren landscaped their acre of property, installed an above ground pool, and doubled the size of their house. Loren and Danell enjoyed hosting many parties for their children and friends. Loren loved to cook. Everyone raved about his cooking. He enjoyed hearing positive reviews on his dishes that he prepared. His daughters cooked alongside him as young girls and now share his passion in the kitchen. His son also worked alongside him and learned to become just as handy with his hands. Together they built a wood shop on the Damascus property. He taught his children to work hard and always to do their best. Loren ran Little Lambs Christian Learning Center for 15 years with his family. He then changed his career. Loren and his son shared the same trade as they both worked as electricians for the IBEW Local 48. Loren also enjoyed golfing, watching sports, fly fishing, hunting, working in the yard, and singing. He sang in a quartet in high school, on the praise worship team at Damascus Community Church, and Good Shepherd Church. Loren had a big heart for the misfortunate. He was always ready to help someone in need. He was a very gifted man with so many amazing abilities. He was also known as safety patrol that protected his family in every way he could.

Loren is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jo. He is survived by his wife, Danell and their three children: Laike age 23, Linsey age 21, and Doslyn age 20. All family and friends are welcome and invited to join Loren’s Celebration of Life!

Loren was a great friend. He was so helpful and hard-working! He had a beautiful voice, even with one lung and some hearing loss. He was gifted in so many ways. It is still surreal that he is no longer with us. I am looking forward to seeing him again as we all party together in heaven! Christine E Weston

I first met Loren at Damascus Community Church when we sang in choir together along with my daughter Sabrina Jackson and now my daughter-in-law Rita. We enjoyed so many years singing together. Never knew that a few years down the road I would have Rita, Loren's sister in our family. He was the sweetest and caring man and always ready to help!! Danell, you and your family are in our prayers. Loren will be missed, and we will see him again, because of Jesus who died for our sins!!🙏🙏 Joy Giancone
To the Little family, I had the pleasure of attending school and choir with Loren. He and I graduated class of '91 together. I don't think I have seen or talked to him since graduation but I always remember him as a nice guy. I pray that the Lord will give you peace during this difficult time. I'm so very sorry for your loss. Please know people are thinking about you and your family. May God bless you all and Loren, rest in peace old friend.. Raquel Whatley - Maiden name (Anders/Cole)
