Sandy resident, Maria Warner died at her home on Sunday, June 26, 2011. She was 74.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland.
She was born, Maria Jeanette Reinke on January 19, 1937 to Walter and Alma (Coones) Reinke in Portland. Maria was raised and received her schooling in Portland and graduated from The Immaculata Academy. Prior to starting her career at U.S. Bank, she worked as a telephone operator. Maria worked in the Trust Department for U.S. Bank at the downtown Portland Branch until retiring in the early 1990’s. Shortly after retirement, Maria moved to Sandy where she married Terry Warner and made her permanent home.
Maria loved to travel from nature trails in Oregon to far away places as Europe and Hawaii. She was a collector of rocks and shells, loved bird watching, doing puzzles and watching musicals.
Surviving are her children, Steven Slossar of Troutdale, Thomas Slossar of West Linn, Susan Whaley of Gresham and Linda Shaddock of Clackamas. Her step children, Merelo Watt of Prattville, Alabama, Tiffany Sullivan of West Linn, Bonnie Jo Everest of Prineville, Nancy Davis of Crooked River Ranch and Susan Walters of Oregon City; her sister, Patricia Kirkland of Portland; 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Sandy.
