Sandy resident Marie Milada Moore died Thursday, April 29, 2009. She was 83. At her request no services will be held.
Marie was born in Kokanin, Czechoslovakia on September 8, 1925. As a young woman she and her family were caught up in the turmoil and destruction of WWII. Marie earned a Masters Degree in Culinary Arts from a Culinary School in Europe. She married Oscar Moore, who was serving in the U. S. Army, in Fulda Heffen, Germany in September of 1948 and then immigrated to the United States December 25, 1948.
Marie and Oscar started their family and lived in several western States over the years including, California, Nevada, Arizona, Washington and Oregon where she was able to use her culinary talents in the restaurant industry. Oscar died in 1972. Marie lived in Wisconsin for a while with her daughter Shelley and then moved to Sandy in 2005 to live with her daughter Lillie.
She loved to cook, garden and enjoyed the outdoors.
Marie is survived by her daughters; Mary Moore of Chandler, AZ, Lillie Williams of Sandy, Shelley Williams of Keshena, WI; her son Ed Moore of Wheatland, CA; and five grandchildren.
