Welches resident, Marjorie Boate died at her home after a long illness. She was 75.
A memorial service will be held at the Hoodland Lutheran Church on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 1:00 p.m.
She was born, Marjorie Frances Reasor to Glen and Evelyn (Mehan) Reasor on September 2, 1933 in Fresno, California. Marjorie was raised in Fresno and received her schooling there. After graduating from high school, she was married to Jay Hill and they had a daughter together. They were later divorced. Marjorie remained in Fresno where she devoted her life to raising her daughter.
In 1963, Marjorie was united in marriage to Thomas Boate in Fresno, California.
They lived in Manhatten Beach, California for a time and later in Concord, California. Moving to Oregon in 1978, Marjorie and her husband made their home in Durham where they resided for twelve years. Prior to moving to Welches in 2004, they lived in the Wilsonville area.
Marjorie was a member of the American Colonists and Daughters of the American Revolution. She was former member and very active in the Episcopal Church in Concord, California and was currently attending Hoodland Lutheran Church. Hawaii was Marjorie’s favorite place to be and she and her husband had a home in Maui and spent many months of the year there.
Surviving is her husband Tom of Welches; her daughter and husband, Jadette (Jodi) and Raymond Donahue: and grandson, Ryan Donahue of Gig Harbor, Washington.
