Longtime Boring resident Mary Lane, 95, died April 14, 2013.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday April 27, 2013 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Sandy.
Mary Alice Ross was born July 15, 1917 in Friend, Nebraska to Marjorie (Gavin) and Henry William Ross. She married Oral Lane July 28, 1937 in Warrensburg, Missouri and they made their home in Nebraska where they began their family.
They moved from Arthur County, NE to Boring in 1952. Besides taking care of her family Mary worked as a cook for Heidi’s Restaurant. She also worked for a time at Holt’s Store. She and Oral were members of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Sandy.
Survivors include her sons, Sam of Seneca, OR and Michael of Port Orford, OR; daughters, Patricia Slaughter of Brightwood and Debra Stuchlik of Baker City, OR;
sisters, Bertha Dana of Hebron, NE and Marjorie Weidel of Osborne, KS; 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
The family suggests contributions be made to Providence Hospice or a charity of your choice.
