Matthew James Lynch was born on February 8, 1955, in Portland, Oregon to Arlene Faye and Thomas Jerry Lynch.
Matt graduated from David Douglas High School in 1974.
He lived as a bachelor for a while and worked his dream job as a night club disc jockey until he married the most chill woman he ever met, Pamela Joanne. Together they had two daughters, Christine Nicole, and Laura Marie. Pamela passed away in 1995 but lived on in his heart until the end.
Matt worked at Owens Illinois in Portland for 32 years and retired in 2015 right before becoming a grandfather for the second time.
Matt loved to fish, camp, and boat. He enjoyed beach trips to Rockaway with his girls. Always trying to make memories, he took them to see Paul McCartney to make sure their first ever rock concert would be one to remember. He adored his role as "Papa" and couldn't express how much love he had for his grandchildren.
Matt was fiercely independent. He embraced Oregon’s motto right up to the end, flying by his own wings and inspired those around him to do the same. He will be forever missed.
Matt is survived by his two daughters, Christine (35) and Laura (30), his granddaughters Liliana (11) and Abigail (7), and his three siblings Mark, Julie, and Jeff.
A graveside ceremony will be held on January 13th, 2023, at Cliffside Cemetery in Sandy, Oregon at 11 am.
