Longtime Sandy resident Maxine Irene Wolf “Mackie” passed away peacefully at her home August 7, 2011. She was 83.
A Graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Firhill Memorial Cemetery in Sandy.
Mackie was born in Sandpoint, Idaho to Floyd G. and Valerie (Wilkenson) Burdick December 8, 1927. She was the third of four children spending her early years in Idaho and then as a young child the family moved to Oregon.
July 3rd of 1946 Mackie wed George Wolf in Vancouver, Washington. They built their home in Sandy and started their family, eventually having 3 children. Mackie combined raising her family along with working at the Oregon Bulb Farm. She worked there for over 45 years. After retiring from the Bulb Farm she worked at Prime time Video in Welches for 10 years.
Mackie loved taking care of her yard and took great pride in maintaining a beautiful landscape. She also enjoyed going to the beach and getting out to as many yard sales as she could. Her motto was “shop ‘till you drop”, especially at Christmas time.
Mackie is survived by her sons, Dennis and Steven Wolf of Sandy; daughter Darlene Clark of Milwaukie; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. George preceded her in death in April 2001.
