March 24th, 1934 - November 18th, 2018

Obituary

Melvin Monroe Miller passed away on November 18, 2018 at 84.

He was born in Oklahoma but lived most of his life in Oregon. Melvin graduated from Gresham High School and married Shirley Vollrath in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper for 3 years and later attended Portland State College.
He had a 21 year career as an EMT/Firefighter and retired from Portland Fire Bureau in 1990.

Melvin worked on various home building projects in his spare time and built two of the homes that he and Shirley lived in.
There was very little that he would not attempt, such as motorcycle riding, scuba diving, water skiing, flying, ATV riding, or anything competitive.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, children Kelly Miller, Gregg Miller, and Rusty Miller, brother George Miller and sisters Connie Anderson-Miller and Pat Boyd, six grandchildren, three step grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
