So sorry to hear this. Our thoughts and prayers are with Donna and the family. Mike was one of a kind and, although we did not see one another often, each visit was like we had not been apart. I will always cherish the time I spent with him at Newark PD and the impact he had on my starting out in my law enforcement career and my life. Rich and Kerri Rich and Kerri Nance
Mike and I worked together at Newark PD in the early 70's. He was a good, solid cop who everyone wanted to work with. We all admired his judgement, and ethics and enjoyed his uplifting personality. I was sorry to see him move up to Oregon but happy for him and his family.
Mike was a good man and will be missed. My condolences to his family.

My condolences to the Hartman family. While I did not know Mike personally, I worked with several officers who knew him and spoke highly of him and his dedication to his family and the law enforcement profession. My prayers are with you during your challenging time. Mike Carroll

I met Mike in the '70s when he worked as an officer at the Newark CA Police Dept. I was a cadet there and Mike took me under his wings. He was a strong, kind police officer and more importantly, a good man. He led the way for three other Newark PD officers to find careers in the Portland Metro area. Mike always came up with good advice and I owe a lot to him. I have fantastic memories of fish camp on the Clackamas river. Julie and I consider him a great friend. He'll always be with us. Pray ,God, for peace and Your comfort to Donna and their family. Ed & Julie Kirsch
Rest in Peace cousin. I will always remember your good heart and your wonderful sense of humor. Jan Meires
To Mike's family. I want you to know that Mike always treated me and others around me with the utmost caring and respect. He was a kind and caring guy and he simply loved to chat with the crew. I miss the old school guys and the stories they would share about the good old days of police work. He spent time getting us up to speed on how good we have it with our fancy tools :). Mike was a good man and I know his family loved him deeply. He will be missed. Wallace Coon
As one of many young Officers who swarmed into GPD, I found Mike to be generous with help, very calm in crises and infinitely patient with all of us. I never heard him speak poorly of anyone. I am grateful to have gotten to work with him. Sandra Moreau
May your family memories bring you comfort. Judy Marleau-Denton

I knew Mike while he was working with the Gresham police department. He was always joyful and looking out for people the best way he knew how. His absence will be one of great loss. I pray that happy memories will soon replace the sorrow in the family and friends hearts. One day we will all be joined together again and be able to rejoice. Dee Wilson
Mike was always the nicest guy. When we first moved into the neighborhood I was unloading a washer and dryer from my truck. He saw what I was doing and immediately came over to help. That’s what Mike was about, helping his community, and that is how I will always describe him. He was a good man, what men should strive to be. He will forever be missed. Until we meet again. Todd Hacker
I trust you are enjoying yourself with Christ. Appreciate you taking care of me when I first arrived in Gresham. Kristin, I have been praying for you. I’m sure you recognize how fortunate your dad was to have a daughter like you. He was special. Rest in Christ’s ever loving arms. Durbin
