Longtime Sandy resident, Michael Cochran, died at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital on March 20, 2011. He was 75.
He was born on October 2, 1935 in Gary, Indiana to Charles and Vera (Brewer) Cochran. Michael moved from Gary to Spokane, Washington and then Troutdale, Oregon, where he attended Gresham High School. He was a member of the National Guard.
He was united in marriage to Shirley Nelson on December 18, 1965 in Gresham. He worked as a truck driver for L & E Trucking in Portland.
Michael enjoyed hunting. He and Shirley spent retirement traveling in their RV and Park Hosting. He assisted his wife, who was the Park Ranger at Good Lake State Park near Lakeview.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Cochran of Sandy; son, Charles Cochran of Sandy; daughters, Dixie Conley of Sandy, Nancy Peters of Anderson, CA, and Cheryl Whelchel of Tangent, OR; sister Ruth Smith of Onalaska, WA; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
