Michael Douglas Moore passed away from cancer in his home in Sandy, Oregon. He was 67.
Michael was born and raised in Albany, Oregon. He enjoyed working and being outdoors; it was a love of his that he carried through his entire life.
He enjoyed walking through parks and forests after work, and liked to paddle his canoe through peaceful waterways to relax.
Michael was a naturally inventive person and liked working with his hands. As an artisan who enjoyed creating many things, Michael would make wooden clocks and toys, leather-worked goods, and etchings on plexiglass and glass. He even built a forge in order to practice blacksmithing.
He enjoyed creating and playing musical instruments from recycled materials. He took on the challenge of calligraphy and the artistry of photography; he captured many beautiful pictures of his children and grandchildren of whom he was very proud.
Michael loved his job at Boeing where he was a machinist for over thirty-five years. He saw his work as another extension of his love of craft. Michael took pride in working with precision and skill.
Michael is survived by his wife, his four children, and ten grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, two sisters and one brother.
The memorial service for Michael is on March 9th at 2:00 o'clock in the afternoon.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that attendees bring cookies to share.
