Michael Paul Tilden passed away peacefully in his sleep at age 42 on January 14, 2022, at his home in Sandy. He was born on June 5, 1979, to Shirley Anne Tilden and Mark Vernon Tilden in Vancouver, Washington. Mike grew up in Gresham with his older brother, Mark Jr. He attended Sam Barlow High School and the University of Oregon, then spent his professional career in various facets of the financial industry, specializing in lending.
Mike met his future wife, Genelle Strech, in high school and they married in 2004. Together they were raising their two children; Ty and Beckham, born in 2006 and 2009 respectively. Mike was an involved and loving father and is remembered for his sense of humor, infectious smile, generosity, and kind-heartedness. He had a deep passion for music, enjoyed pop culture, graphic design, and loved jokes and pranks; but his number one hobby was spending time with his family and he always made sure they felt loved.
Mike was also a devoted volunteer, serving on the Oregon Trail Academy school board and giving countless hours to the Make-A-Wish foundation. To say Mike was loved would be an understatement. He was surrounded by family and friends who cherished him deeply and is survived by his parents, Mark Sr. and Shirley; brother Mark Jr. and wife Mindy; nephews Owen and Jake and niece Ruby; parents-in-law Gregg and Glenda Strech; brother-in-law Gavin Strech and wife Christie; nephew Mason; wife Genelle; sons, Ty and Beckham; and many others who were privileged to have known and loved Mike.
A celebration of life will be held to honor the rich life Mike lived. Please join us Saturday, February 26th at 1 p.m., at Mountain View Golf Course in Boring.
