In Loving Memory Of

Michael Paul Tilden

June 5th, 1979 - January 14th, 2022

Obituary

Michael Paul Tilden passed away peacefully in his sleep at age 42 on January 14, 2022, at his home in Sandy. He was born on June 5, 1979, to Shirley Anne Tilden and Mark Vernon Tilden in Vancouver, Washington. Mike grew up in Gresham with his older brother, Mark Jr. He attended Sam Barlow High School and the University of Oregon, then spent his professional career in various facets of the financial industry, specializing in lending.

Mike met his future wife, Genelle Strech, in high school and they married in 2004. Together they were raising their two children; Ty and Beckham, born in 2006 and 2009 respectively. Mike was an involved and loving father and is remembered for his sense of humor, infectious smile, generosity, and kind-heartedness. He had a deep passion for music, enjoyed pop culture, graphic design, and loved jokes and pranks; but his number one hobby was spending time with his family and he always made sure they felt loved.

Mike was also a devoted volunteer, serving on the Oregon Trail Academy school board and giving countless hours to the Make-A-Wish foundation. To say Mike was loved would be an understatement. He was surrounded by family and friends who cherished him deeply and is survived by his parents, Mark Sr. and Shirley; brother Mark Jr. and wife Mindy; nephews Owen and Jake and niece Ruby; parents-in-law Gregg and Glenda Strech; brother-in-law Gavin Strech and wife Christie; nephew Mason; wife Genelle; sons, Ty and Beckham; and many others who were privileged to have known and loved Mike.

A celebration of life will be held to honor the rich life Mike lived. Please join us Saturday, February 26th at 1 p.m., at Mountain View Golf Course in Boring.

I am so sorry. There are no words, I just wish I could send each of you a hug. I will keep you all in my prayers. Please know, how much I respected Mike. The work he did at OTA was important. But more important, was the smile and kind words he always had for whomever he met. I was blessed to have known him. His love for all of you was always so evident. Kasshawna Knoll

Mike was more than a son in law to me. He was truly a big part of our family for many years…. Even before he married Genelle.
The picture I included is typical of the special things Mike would do. He snuck over to our house and left that on the front porch on my birthday one year. He loved to make every occasion fun and unique. And not just for family….
He loved practical jokes and he and I loved pulling pranks on each other.
We shared a love of music and when we traveled together, he and I stayed up after everyone went to bed and listened to our “ evening” music…. often under the stars.
He loved his family so much and was so proud of Genelle’s artistic talents and of Ty and Beckham’s many accomplishments.
I still can’t believe he’s gone and I will miss him every day.
As Mike would say: Love ya…. Appreciate ya…. Enjoy ya.
Glenda
I didn’t spend but a few minutes here and there in your presence but your presence was always big. You were always kind and anytime you thought you could help, you reached out. Goodbyes are are never easy but I’m so glad to know you went so peacefully. Mike, save me a seat at the cool table, would ya?
Genelle, please know you are in my deepest thoughts of healing, rising and continuance as you venture this next chapter. ❤️
