Gresham resident Shelly Kopra passed away and entered into Heaven on October 13, 2016. She was 54 years old. A celebration of Shelly’s life will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at 2:00pm at Grace Community Church 800 SE Hogan Rd, Gresham, Oregon. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to the American Cancer Society.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Steve; daughters Shauna and Corynn; son Jacob (Caitlyn); father Eugene Strong; sisters Kristy (Ron) Thompson and Kerry (Jerry) Drum; grandmother Velma Strong; and 20 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Iris Strong.
Michelle (Shelly) Marguerite Kopra was born March 28, 1962 in Portland, Oregon, to Eugene and Iris (Penberthy) Strong. Shelly loved to cook and was famous for her excellent baking skills. She enjoyed attending her children’s sporting events and cherished family road trips. For the past 10 years, Shelly worked at West Orient Middle School, sharing her positive outlook on life with the staff and students alike. Shelly was a devout Christian, whose faith never wavered. She handled cancer with incredible grace, class and perseverance.
Shelly will be greatly missed on earth, but we are comforted that she is united with her Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven.
