Former Gresham resident, Mildred L. Paul died on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at East Cascade Retirement Home in Madras. She was 85.
A Funeral Service will be held at Sandy Funeral Home on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Cliffside Cemetery.
She was born Mildred Lorene Rouse to Roy and Maude (Jackson) Rouse on April 1, 1926 in Colbert, Oklahoma where she was raised and received her schooling.
At the age of 15, she was married to LeRoy Jackson on February 14, 1941 in Oklahoma. They later moved to Southern California where they began their family. Mildred was employed at Hughes and Autonetics where she worked as an electronic bonder. In 1955, she and LeRoy were divorced. Mildred remained in California where she met and later married J.L. Paul. They were married in 1959 and lived in Long Beach. He later preceded her in death. Ten years ago, Mildred’s health began to decline so she moved to Gresham to live with her daughter and family. In 2005 Mildred moved to Madras where she made her permanent home.
Mildred loved and treasured her family, both her children and all of her grandchildren. She was very dedicated to them as well as her career. She enjoyed family outings especially picnics and camping.
Surviving are her daughters, LaVerne Swift of Gresham and Shirley “Ruthie” Owens of Ottumwa, Iowa; her son Charles Jackson of Irvine, California and many many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
