Margaret Modean Wever, age 93 passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at her home in Welches with her children by her side.
Modean was born on April 26, 1925 in Newalla, Oklahoma. On December 23, 1942 in McLoud, Oklahoma, she was united in marriage to Edward Wever while he was on leave from the Military. In the late 1940’s, Edward and Modean worked as professional photographers in Amarillo, Texas and Albuquerque, New Mexico. The family later moved to Rialto, California in 1959 where Modean pursued her career in portrait photography and raised their family.
In 1976, Ed and Modean moved to Oregon and made their permanent home in Welches. Modean was manager of Hood Course Acres from 1977 until retiring in 1997.
Modean cared deeply for her children and was always so proud of them, leaving nothing behind but beautiful memories. Living in Welches for 42 years, she often referred to the Mt. Hood Corridor as God’s country. Modean was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
Surviving are her children, Vickie Dutton, Luroi Christianson, Terry Wever, Mitzi Christensen, Mira Book, Mark Wever and her beloved dog Rio; 22 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Ed of 72 years who passed away in 2015 and her daughter, Bonita Fuge.
