Sandy resident, Molly Dodson died at home surrounded by family on Wednesday May 16th at the age of 69.
A funeral will be held on Saturday May 26th, 2pm at Sandy Funeral Home. A private burial will follow at Cliffside Cemetery.
Molly was born December 6, 1942 in Klamath Falls, Oregon to Madge and Eldon Kooken. At the age of 10, the family moved to Portland where Molly graduated from Franklin High School.
She married Dean Dodson in 1964 and resided in Portland before they purchased a farm in Sandy and made a home there with son Jay, and daughter Sherrie.
Molly was a key punch operator for NW Hardware and Implement Assoc. in Portland. From there she became employed at Oregon Bank and Insurance as a claim adjuster until her retirement.
Molly’s favorite pastimes were tole painting, oil painting, flower gardening, card making, bird watching , gathering with friends and family, and especially being an involved grandmother to Bryan, Josh and Jarrad, as well as her great-grandsons: Mason, Dylan and Christian.
Because Molly’s love and compassion for God’s creatures, and especially cats, was well known to all, donations in her honor can be made to the Feral Cat Coalition: P.O Box 82734, Portland, Oregon 97282.
She is preceded in death by her husband Dean, her brother Lloyd and sister Johnita.
Survivors include, daughter Sherrie and husband Bob Rogers of Portland Oregon, son Jay and wife Ellen of Vancouver Washington, sister Vickie and husband John Duncan of Vancouver Washington, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
