Long time Welches resident Nancy Jane Allen, died at her home July 15, 2010. She was 82.
A funeral service will be held at St. John Catholic Church at Welches, at 11:00 am, Thursday July 22. Private burial will follow at Gethsemani Cemetery in Portland.
Nancy was born August 25, 1927 to Glenn and Ann (Bigley) Lewis in Portland, Oregon. She graduated from Washington High School, continuing her schooling at Marylhurst College for the following two years. She was then employed at Dun and Bradstreet.
On July 8, 1950 Nancy married Norman B. Allen in Portland. They made their home in Portland where they began their family. In 1973 the family moved to the Welches area where Nancy worked in the office at Welches Grade School.
She enjoyed reading, gardening and golfing. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church and the Mt. Hood Golf Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman in 2003 and son, John in 2001.
Surviving are her sons, Stephen and Daniel Allen, both of Welches and Robert of Zig Zag; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
