Troutdale resident Nancy Patricia Simnitt died on Tuesday, January 4th, in Troutdale. She was 60.
A Memorial Service was held on Friday, January 7, 2011 at Sandy Funeral Home.
Nancy was born on May 12th, 1950 in Portland, Oregon to Kenneth James and Elsie Joan (Meger) Simnitt. A lifelong Oregon resident, Nancy graduated from Reynolds High School. She returned to school later in life graduating magna cum laude from Portland State. Her degree in English was very beneficial to her chosen vocation as a tutor.
Nancy enjoyed painting, calligraphy, and writing. Her writing was chosen to be part of an anthology published by Mt. Hood Community College. She also enjoyed video games, reading, photography and gardening. Her garden is testament to that passion. She was also the primary caregiver for her mother.
Nancy possessed a brilliant, artistic mind, yet she remained ever humble. She was very determined, yet she was very kind. Nancy was reserved, yet she loved without reservation. Every man deserves to know a Nancy Patricia Simnitt. She will be missed by all those who knew her. Requiescat in pace.
Nancy is survived by her mother, Elsie Simnitt of Troutdale; sisters, Darlene Alley of Powell Valley and Debora Simnitt of Portland; and her brothers, Kenneth of Tigard, Jerome of Canby, and Theodore of Estacada.
