Nona Cline (nee Lukens), age 93, passed away at her home at Avamere Cascadia Village in Sandy, Oregon on Thursday, April 14, 2022. Nona was born and raised in Spokane, Washington and moved to Portland in 1951. She is survived by her two daughters, Donna (Bill) Apple and Luanne (Ernie) Hamilton and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Cline, and her sister, Mary Hunter.
Nona was a kind and gentle woman who was loved and admired by those around her. She was a devout Christian and attended Trinity Fellowship Church in Southeast Portland for many years. While raising her daughters, she was active in PTA and Camp Fire Girls. She enjoyed her garden of roses and vegetables and sewed for many years making apparel and doll clothes for friends and family. She was always hardworking, but made time each day to watch Jeopardy and complete a daily crossword puzzle in ink.
