Boring resident Paul Fitzpatrick, 68, died at Mt. Hood Medical Center on January 9, 2013 with his family by his side.
A memorial service was held at Sandy Funeral Home on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 11AM.
He was born Paul Benson Jr. September 20, 1944 in Portland to Martha Louise (Harper) and Paul Benson Fitzpatrick Sr. Paul was raised in Portland graduating from David Douglas High School in 1963.
August 9, 1975 Paul married Myrna Davis at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Gresham. After their sons were raised they build their home in Boring and were planning on celebrating 25 years there this year. Paul worked in the road construction business with Rogers Construction for 24 years. He moved from there to Portland Road & Driveway where he became superintendent and worked for 19 years until his retirement in 2006.
Paul had an artistic eye and was very talented with his hands. He enjoyed woodworking, photography, oil painting and building custom furniture. He also won awards for some pottery pieces that he created. Paul was known to go fishing on occasion and, of course, had many stories to go along with his adventures.
Survivors include his wife Myrna; his 3 sons, Jeffrey Sean Fitzpatrick of Portage, MI, Trevor Jason Fitzpatrick of Battle Ground, WA, and John Michael Fitzpatrick of New York, NY; grandchildren, Christopher, Kyleigh, Madison, MaKenzie, Brooklyn, and Christian. He was predeceased by his sister Shirley.
