In Loving Memory Of

Paula Ann McGugin

September 5th, 1952 - August 1st, 2022

Obituary

Paula Ann McGugin passed away on August 1, 2022 in Gresham, Oregon after a 10-year battle with multiple myeloma.

During her childhood, she enjoyed vacations at the family cabin in Breitenbush, and at the Oregon coast. Paula was a true, lifelong ailurophile (cat lover). We'd like to envision Paula reuniting with her many beloved cats at the Rainbow Bridge.

She is survived by her sister Cheryl (Fred) Proett, her aunt, Maxine Brickley, her beloved cat, Aurora, and many relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Evelyn McGugin.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. Email FriendsofPaulaMcG@gmail.com for more information.

Donations in her memory may be made to Oregon Humane Society or Cat Adoption Team.

My heart goes out to you, Cheryl, at the loss of your sister. I was searching for my aunt’s obituary when I came across Paula’s, and was so saddened. She graduated one year ahead of me, with my brother, and we shared the same circle of friends. I remember her as outgoing and confident, and funny. I also remember how much she loved the Beatles, and how crushed she was when the manager of the Beatles died. I spent a little time at the cabin, and fell in love with that cabin. I still think about it sometimes, and the fun I had with Paula there, listening to music and giggling at her antics. Another special memory was a day we spent at Timberline Lodge, accessing places not open to the general public. We also were able to take a ride up the glacier behind the lodge in a snow cat. Just know that she will remain in my memories, and I counted her as a friend, even though far too briefly. Prayers for your loss and hurting heart, Cheryl. Karen Hutchins Goetz

Paula,
I am so happy that you are finally free of pain. You fought hard. It's time to laugh and enjoy your cats and loved ones in heaven.

Love, Theresa
