Long time Sandy resident, Pauline T. Allgeier, died at her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at the age of 78. A memorial service was held at Sandy Funeral Home and burial followed at Firhill Memorial Cemetery.
She was born, Pauline Thelma Scates in Clifty, Arkansas to Louie and Margie (Byrd) Scates on March 6, 1935. Her family moved from Arkansas to Sandy when she was 12 years old where she attended Cottrell Grade School and Sandy High School.
Pauline left high school to marry Jerrold Cox. After their divorce; she married William Moritz Allgeier on May 28, 1955 in Cheney, Washington. They made their home in Sandy running the family farm on the Allgeier Homestead and raising their children. Pauline worked as a cook at a chinese restaurant outside of Sandy, Mountain View Golf Course for 10 years, and TJ’s Restaurant for 25 years. Moritz preceded her in death in 1988.
Pauline enjoyed gardening, cooking, shopping and her family. She was involved in many volunteer activities and was a founding member of the VFW, elected president twice and Senior Regent for the Estacada Moose Lodge, and member of the Sandy Rebecca's.
Survivors include: daughters, Mary Cox Yates (Doug) of Sandy, Lana Allgeier of Sandy and Deb Allgeier of Sandy; son, Bobby Allgeier (Nancy) of Estacada; 13 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren,
2 brothers & their wives, 4 sisters & their husbands, 2 sister-in-laws, various nieces/nephews and their families.
