Raymond Thomas McMahon (April 9,1940 - June 7,2015)
Raymond McMahon of Rhododendron passed away June 7,2015. Services were held at Sandy Funeral Home June 15, 2015.
Raymond was born to Linus T McMahon and Sylvia Mae Jackson. Raymond was born deaf and challenged.
As a child he was enrolled in schools for the deaf in Portland, St. Louis, Cincinnati and Salem.
While living in Key West, Fl. with his sister Carole and brother-in-law Jack Graybeal he attended the MARC House (Monroe Assoc. for Retarded Citizens). Raymond loved the staff and many friends there. The family moved north to Spring Hill, Fl where he attended the ARC (Association of Retarded Citizens).
He enjoyed boating. His mother Sylvia Mae encouraged him to embroider,knit and do needlepoint, which he did very well. Many pieces are handed down to family and friends.
Carole and Jack shared the upbringing, care and responsibility of Raymond through his entire life.
Raymond was an inspiration to all who met him.
