Rex was born in February 17, 1948 to George Allen Rogers and Maude Rogers in Whittier California He had 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
In 1953- 1957 Rex attended Max grade school in El Monte California and he went to Kraumes Middle school. From 1963-1967 he had attended El Monte High School.
While he was in high school Rex had worked a newspaper delivery route, rode his bicycle delivering news papers. In 1966-1967 Rex had worked at El Monte drive in Theater he worked there flipping burgers during Weekends , His mom didn’t allow him to work during school days.
1967 Rex had been drafted into the Army after basic training in Fort Ord California he was sent to Georgia for his MOS and he was trained for Chemical Warfare, after he had finished his training he was sent to Vietnam, some time after he arrived there the officer asked for volunteers for welders and Rex raised his hand and he said he can weld, so he got assigned to maintenance outfit.
After Vietnam in 1968 back in El Monte California he was into a motorcycle and also he purchased a car 1965 olds cutless 442 he had it for a short time ended up getting speeding ticket with his car he was supposed to appear in court to take his license away but he then left state of California for a two weeks vacation to Oahu Hawaii but he stayed there and found a job as a Welder, working on hotel buildings installing and making railings for the hotels. And he met Lorraine Rustia and they started dating and moved back to El Monte California and got married in Las Vegas.
They started a life there in El Monte California, Rex had became an owner operator. In 1981 Rex and Lorraine had their first child Philip Rogers , Andrea Rogers 1982 and they had Mark Rogers in 1984. In 1988 Rex and Lorraine with the kids had moved up to Portland Oregon for a new life. But sadly few years after, Rex and Lorraine had separated though they remained friends and never remarried and both take care of their children.
In April 4th, 2004 Rex lost his first born son Philip to the war in Iraq. Rex had been supportive and a good father to his children and a wonderful grandpa to Mackenzie, Rex and Mark started a trucking business together Rex was always there for Mark but in 2016 he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver in 2019 and after how many years of battling health issues in February 20, 2022 He passed away to be with the Lord. Rex’s survived by Mark and Andrea Rogers.
