Richard Alexander Riehl, a resident of Hillsboro, OR died in his home on October 30th, 2019. He was 52 years old.
Rick was born on May 18th, 1967 in Portland, OR. He was the son of Thomas and Helen Riehl and the oldest of three brothers. The family moved to Heppner, OR where he graduated high school in 1985.
On August 15, 1987, Richard married his high school sweetheart Michele Noel Miles. He later joined the US Army, which stationed him in Germany. During this time they welcomed the oldest of two children, Tyler. They later returned to Oregon and had their second child, Theresa, and moved from Eagle Creek to Damascus. Following the passing of his wife in 2009, he relocated to Hillsboro, OR.
Rick worked as a specialty welder for the Sheet Metal Workers LU #16 for 26 years and was set to retire just a few years down the road. He had plans to purchase property on the Trask River and live there with his long-time girlfriend Jenny.
Rick was a devoted father, a loyal companion, and a perfect grandfather to his new grandson. He loved nothing more than spending time with his children, watching UFC fights on Saturday nights. He was an avid hunter and loved to take long, mostly fast, rides on his street bike. He also had a secret passion for gardening.
Richard is survived by his two children, Tyler Riehl of West Linn, Theresa Hatton(Riehl) of Milwaukie, girlfriend Jenny of Hillsboro, grandson Dain Hatton, parents Tom and Helen Riehl of Boring, brother Bob Riehl of Boring, brother T.R of Damascus, sister Robyn Rasler of Sandy, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
