Sandy resident Richard ‘Dick’ Larrowe died at home Monday May 26, 2014 with his family by his side. He was 78.
Richard Eugene Larrowe was born March 12, 1936 to Mary Cecilia (Donnerberg) and Albertus Eugene Larrowe in Portland. He was raised in Portland graduating from Central Catholic in 1954. That September Dick enlisted in the Air Force serving during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge he returned to the Portland area where he began his long career for the U.S. Postal Service as a maintenance mechanic.
Dick married Donna Elizabeth Vedder in Beaverton January 13, 1962. They made their home in Corbett and started their family. They lived in Corbett for 30 years until moving to Sandy.
Dick’s hobbies included vintage Chevrolets along with several car and truck organizations. He was also active in the Sandy Kiwanis Club, St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Vincent DePaul and Sandy Oktoberfest.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; sons, James and Paul; daughter, Mary and their spouses; one granddaughter and 3 step grandsons.
